This coming Sunday, Sept. 12, is our last official fundraiser for the Hong Kong Mission team, a meal after church plus a silent auction. We have been blessed with generous donations from many businesses in our community. Now we are praying for the Lord to sent people to the auction itself on Sunday.
We also received this week e-mail containing more definite information on what we will be teaching while we are in Hong Kong and what classes we will be working with. The next few weeks we will definitely have to buckle down and get our resources together. One big thing is their American Fair, which will be the last Friday we are there. We are expected to put together a booth on the state of Wisconsin, and have some fun activity for them to do to win some type of prize or memento from us.
We need to pray that we do not get distracted by the busy-ness of our world so that we do not prepare adequately for our trip. We also need to pray for those that we will be meeting, that the Lord prepare their hearts for his Word. Relationship building is what this trip is about, and being a living, walking, talking copy of the Gospel to them. That's quite a responsibility, and a privelege.
